PracticeERP and CPA 360 Bring CPA Firm Leaders Together at Insight 360 2026, Launch Playbook as the First Step in “The Loop”

November 4, 2026

Three-day conference in Madison, Wisconsin, delivered hands-on PracticeERP training, sessions on AI and firm leadership, and a look at the roadmap to an AI-first practice management platform

PracticeERP and CPA 360 hosted Insight 360 2026 from November 1 to 4 in Madison, Wisconsin, bringing CPA firm leaders and PracticeERP customers together for three days of training, strategy and networking. Highlights included the launch of Playbook by GVO Cloud, the first step in PracticeERP’s vision called The Loop, and a first look at the PracticeERP roadmap toward an AI-first practice management platform.

Launching Playbook and Closing the Loop

During the “Enhancements & General Updates” session, Jared Burke and Dirk Shimpach, CPA, shared PracticeERP’s vision for bringing more AI capabilities into the platform through The Loop.

For decades, firms have tried to document how they work in binders, wikis and shared drives. That knowledge took too long to write, was hard to find and went stale quickly, so it lived in people’s heads and left when they did. The Loop is designed to create a firm that learns. PracticeERP records what happened, Playbook holds how it should happen, people and AI agents do the work, and every lesson flows back in.

“Today we’re officially launching the first big step in that Loop, it’s called Playbook,” – Jared Burke, CTO, PracticeERP.

The Road to an AI-First PracticeERP

Burke and Shimpach also walked customers through a four-phase roadmap:

  • Foundation: Billing Worksheet & Automation; Scorecard, with five lenses on firm performance by client, employee, partner, manager and project; the Projects+ tab and enhanced reporting; Grid Time Entry; new integrations with CCH, Truss, Laurel and HubSync; and the PracticeERP MCP, so Claude, ChatGPT and other AI co-pilots can understand firm data.
  • Complete and Connect: The second part of Billing Worksheet & Automation, readiness for NetSuite Next and Ask Oracle, and Report Finder.
  • Plan and Automate: Capacity / Resource Planning 2.0 and CAS Automation 2.0.
  • The AI-First Workflow: AI built into how firm work gets done, with The Loop and Playbook fully integrated into PracticeERP.

The roadmap is directional, and timing and scope may change. A dedicated “PracticeERP AI” session went deeper on how firms can put AI to work inside the platform today.

Hands-On Training for PracticeERP Customers

Customers chose from beginner and advanced tracks across the platform:

  • Billing
  • TaskFlow
  • Reporting
  • PracticeERP customization
  • Data cleanup and mass updating
  • Financial period close
  • Troubleshooting
  • Tips and tricks

A NetSuite update session kept firms current on the platform underneath PracticeERP.

Leadership, Growth and AI Adoption

Beyond the platform, sessions focused on the decisions firm leaders face now:

  • An opening keynote on a real-world approach to technology evolution
  • Roundtables on tech strategy and automation, revenue growth and finance, firm processes, and talent development
  • Separate partner and staff sessions on growth, AI and change management
  • A panel on business growth in the age of AI
  • A comparison of AI adoption between firms
  • Sessions on the merger and acquisition process and on role opportunities within a CPA firm
  • An “Ask the Experts” panel on PracticeERP best practices, business development, process changes and the top reports firms use

“It’s exciting to see our firms embrace AI and take real steps toward the future of the CPA firm. The conversations this week weren’t about whether AI belongs in the firm. They were about where to start, how to bring their people along, and how to build the processes and data foundation that make it work. These firms aren’t waiting for the future to arrive. They’re getting ready for it now.” – Sue McCormick, Director of Client Success, PracticeERP
